N—PRIZES
An Aalo Edu Program Cycle 01 / 2026 — Now open

The next atomic age requires the next generation of talent.

N-Prizes are open competitions for anyone interested in nuclear energy. Three briefs a year — design, hardware, and story. Nine months to build. Judged by the engineers mass-manufacturing the world's next reactors. No entry fee. No credentials required.

Three open problems.

N°01
Sample
Reactor design & simulation
Model, simulate, or optimize a microreactor subsystem — core physics, thermal hydraulics, shielding, or controls — using open tools. Show your work; elegance counts.
Deliverable
Model + technical brief
N°02
Sample
Hardware & instrumentation
Build something that works: a radiation detector, a sensor package, a control-system demo, a test rig. Benchtop scale, real measurements, documented end to end.
Deliverable
Working device + demo film
N°03
Sample
Communicating nuclear
Nuclear has a story problem, not a physics problem. Make the film, explainer, or campaign that moves public understanding — and prove it resonated.
